From the forest to your door - wild harvest chaga tea

What Is Chaga Tea?

Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) is a fungus that grows on birch trees and is extremely high in antioxidants. King of the Mushrooms, as sometimes called, is a very special medicinal mushroom that has multiple health benefits and an appealing, slight natural vanilla taste, usually enjoyed in the form of tea. These benefits have long been known in the East, where it’s has been used for centuries by people in Siberia, Russia and other parts of Asia.

About Our Teas

Our mushrooms are harvested in Northwest Connecticut. We sustainably harvest, dehydrate and carefully hand blend our teas with high-quality ingredients. Our teas are 100% American harvested.

We only harvested from living trees and great care is taken not to damage the tree or over-harvest the mushroom.

Health Benefits

The health benefits are numerous, many of which can be attributed to its immune-boosting ingredients and antioxidants.

Brewing Tea

Two ways to brew: Method 1: Add 1 tsp tea per 8oz boiling water. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain.

The CT Harvest Way: Add 1 heaping tsp. to 1 liter thermos. Let steep 20 mins. – 2 hrs. in the thermos for a more robust brew. Pour into cup, enjoy.

Harvesting Chaga for our Tea

Too young. This birch tree is not ready yet, but we will monitor the effects of the Chaga on the tree and patiently wait.

The mushroom grows almost exclusively on birch trees. It can be found on paper birch, yellow birch, black birch and even cherry birch and heart-leaved paper birch. When harvesting, we collect only the external cork and never cut into the tree. We do almost all of our harvesting through the fall and winter until the sap starts running.
